Last month, a historic event was held for the civil engineering guild in the region. Engineer Jahaira Mercado was sworn in as the new president of the Board of Directors of the College of Civil Engineers of the Coast of Jalisco, A.C. (CICCJ), marking a milestone as the first woman to assume this position in 34 years.
The ceremony was attended by important personalities, including engineer Fernando Zamora, president of the Jalisco Union of Engineers’ Associations, as well as special guests and relatives of the new members of the council.
After symbolically receiving the keys to the college, Mercado offered a few words to those present, where she mentioned that her administration will seek to gain the support of other civil associations and institutions, to contribute towards better development and planning in Puerto Vallarta.
Headed by president Jahaira Mercado, the 2024-2026 Board of Directors of the CICCJ will be comprise of José Castellanos, vice president, José Agráz, secretary, Erika Sánchez, treasurer, and members Alexis Tirado, Juan Almaguer, Iván López, Héctor Rosales, Alejandro Padilla, Filiberto Rodríguez, José Rivera, Óscar Montiel and Jesús Flores.
