Warren Brander is originally from Toronto, Canada, a place that saw him grow and develop professionally, as he had the opportunity to earn a degree in Business Administration and begin his working life in different financial institutions, working in areas focused on information technology in banks in Canada and the United States, countries where he spent most of his life before moving to Vallarta · Nayarit.
His first visit to Puerto Vallarta was 33 years ago, during a vacation. From the moment of his arrival, he fell in love with the destination’s natural attributes, the main reasons that made him return occasionally. Later, he began to consider the option of making his home on this Mexican Pacific coast, an objective he met in 2009 when he and his family made the decision to move here permanently.
“It all started with my brother-in-law’s wedding. That was the first time my partner had visited Puerto Vallarta, and just like me, he was fascinated with this place. During that trip, we decided to buy a property that we would move to on retirement. We loved Puerto Vallarta so much that we fast tracked our move by about 10 years and settled here with our young children in 2011. This was the place to be for our family. We wanted our children to be bilingual and for all of us to be part of Mexican culture.”
With respect to the transition from one destination to another, Brander says that it was a fairly simple process, because in his work as an information technology consultant he could work remotely. Two years after moving, he began to take interest in the real estate industry and discovered that his previous knowledge in administration and experience in banks would be very useful.
“It all started in 2011, when I started helping a friend with the rental of one of her properties in Bucerías. I was just helping her with the marketing process, but little by little I began to get more involved on the sales side. Suddenly, I was pretty immersed in sales, so it was something that just happened pretty quickly.”
“For me it seemed to come naturally because in Canada, for a long time, I worked in banks and one of my main roles was to provide home financing advice for our clients. Also, I liked to remodel properties, that is, I would buy a house, renovate it, and sell it.”
Upon discovering his passion and talent for real estate, Brander decided to devote himself fully to this activity, so he took all the training available in our country to become a real estate agent. He currently has certifications from CONOCER and the Asociación Mexicana de Profesionales Inmobiliarios (AMPI) (Mexican Association of Real Estate Professionals).
Brander started out in Bucerías and, in a short time, became known in different real estate agencies throughout the region, thanks to his sales skills, until he met Todd Bates, principal representative of the real estate agency RE/Max in Puerto Vallarta, who invited him to join his RE/Max offices located in Zona Romántica and the Marina.
Brander says that what he enjoys most is offering properties according to the needs of those who seek to invest in the bay. For this reason, based on his knowledge of the various areas that make up our destination, he can propose options that range from Punta de Mita to Boca de Tomatlán.
With respect to the evolution and future of our destination, Brander is very positive, stating that the changes that have been experienced in Vallarta · Nayarit have helped to make more and more people wish to invest in this heavenly destination.
“For me, the evolution of Puerto Vallarta has been very favorable, because I remember that 33 years ago there were not as many entertainment options as now. In addition, the infrastructure was very different, but now it is more modern, and this is something that really encourages visitors to invest in this destination, because they know that it is a city that is becoming more complete every day, offering greater comforts and a completely different style of life.”
Among his personal projects, Brander shared that he enjoys community service with his family and neighbors, as it represents an activity that, in addition to helping with the conservation and appearance of the streets, is something that fosters integration among residents.
