According to the 41st National Urban Public Security Survey (ENSU) of the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI) for the fourth quarter of 2023, Puerto Vallarta ranks as the second safest city in Mexico.

They emphasize that this result was achieved through the collaborative efforts of state, federal, and local governments, who have organized and partnered to ensure the peace and safety of both residents and visitors.

In this way, the Top 5 cities with the highest percentage of safety perception in Mexico are:

  1. Benito Juárez, CDMX – 15.2
  2. Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco – 19.4
  3. Piedras Negras, Coahuila – 20.5
  4. Mérida, Yucatán – 22.2
  5. La Paz, BCS – 22.4

It is important to note that in the previous edition of the same survey, our destination was ranked 5th, which is a very encouraging indicator for the community and has a significant impact on the quality of life for both residents and visitors.

The ENSU is conducted on a quarterly basis, and for this edition, more than 27,000 households from 75 Mexican cities participated in the study.

Our destination has remained as a safe city, where residents and visitors can live together in harmony.
