During the presentation of the Costalegre Regional Strategic Plan (PERC), the government of the state of Jalisco announced the construction of a world-class airport in Chalacatepec, a town located in the municipality of Tomatlán, within the tourist region known as Costalegre, which it is located to the south of Vallarta · Nayarit.

Currently, there is a small airfield in that area that has a paved runway that is approximately 1.36 miles long by 148 feet, with turn ramps at both ends. The runway sits 46 meters above sea level and will be consumed into this project over time.

With an investment of 62 million pesos, the second stage of this airport is integrated into the 16 initiatives and 35 projects of the plan (which have already been executed or are going to be carried out) with an amount equivalent to 1,495 million pesos. By 2024, an additional 910 million pesos of public and private investment will be added.

“We are betting on building first-rate infrastructure, which means greater development opportunities and the possibility of continuing to obtain more investments, as well as generating a better future for all,” said Enrique Alfaro, governor of Jalisco. The new project includes reconstruction of Highway 200.

Located about 300 kilometers south of Puerto Vallarta, Costalegre is a coastal strip of great beauty whose real estate development is focused on offering exclusive developments and high-luxury properties facing the sea.
