During the past month, the general results for 2022 from the Puerto Vallarta International Airport were presented through the Advisory Commission of the Pacific Airport Group (GAP), the agency that manages the air terminal.

Undoubtedly, the most outstanding result was passenger traffic, which increased by 22 percent compared to 2019, prior to the pandemic. In addition, there was an 11 percent increase in air operations and a 36 per cent increase in the number of seats.

Currently, the airport terminal has 49 destinations (37 international and 12 domestic), as well as 23 airlines (16 international and 7 domestic).

Likewise, the investments made in the Master Development Plan (PMD) 2020-2024 were presented, where the most outstanding project is Terminal 2, the first airport building in Latin America that will have Net Zero certification standards and in which 7 billion pesos are being invested.

“During December 2022, Puerto Vallarta offered an average of 595 weekly departures. This, together with the 44 percent growth in domestic passengers, highlight the leadership of our region.” —José Amador, director of Puerto Vallarta International Airport.
