In the last three months, approximately 60 real estate professionals from various local companies have taken the course and evaluation to obtain the federal real estate certification of the Consejo Nacional de Normalización y Certificación de Competencias Laborales (CONOCER) (National Council for Standardization and Certification of Labor Competencies) of the Secretaría de Educación Pública. This program is endorsed by the Asociación Mexicana de Profesionales Inmobiliarios (AMPI) (Mexican Association of Real Estate Professionals) and consists of three days in which the theoretical and practical aspects of real estate commercialization are reviewed, as well as two days of examination.
In the Banderas Bay area, the training and evaluation are provided by Corporativo Inmobiliario Estrada (CIE), with course coordinator architect Francisco Estrada and evaluator Eduardo García. In an interview with Vallarta Real Estate Guide, both explained that they collaborate closely with the Puerto Vallarta, Riviera Nayarit and Compostela AMPI chapters and that those interested in the program can obtain more information through these organizations.
The CONOCER certification endorses the skills of a person to commercialize real estate and is valid throughout Mexico. However, its validity is subject to changes in the federal real estate standard, so it is recommended to take refresher courses regularly.
“The federal real estate standard changed in 2017, so currently there is a significant demand to take the update that includes the new knowledge for the CONOCER certification.” —Francisco Estrada, director of Corporativo Inmobiliario Estrada.
