Alejandro Kuri Pheres has been installed as the new president of the Asociación Mexicana de Profesionales Inmobiliarios (AMPI) (Mexican Association of Real Estate Professionals) and will hold the position until December 31, 2018. Elected unanimously at AMPI’s 46th Congreso Nacional, in Villahermosa, Tabasco, Kuri’s leadership will provide continuity to the work carried out by Beatriz Gamboa, who held the position during 2017.
During his appointment, the new leader affirmed that he will strive to strengthen collaboration with each state’s government authorities to certify real estate agents through a law that establishes compulsory academic training. At the event, Pablo Israel Rodríguez also was introduced as vice president of the new board of directors.
Before leaving the presidency of the organization, Beatriz Gamboa was awarded the prize for leadership Premio Líderes en Concreto, by the Consejo Nacional de Normalización y Certificación de Competencias Laborales (CONOCER) (National Council for Standardization and Certification of Labor Competencies), at the Encuentro del Sistema Nacional de Competencias (Meeting of the National Competency System) held in Monterrey, Nuevo León. Dr. Jesús Alberto Almaguer Rocha, general director of CONOCER, highlighted her efforts and recognized the great work she did ensuring the professionalization of members.
Alejandro Kuri studied Corporate Law at Universidad Humanitas and received a master’s degree in Real Estate from Universidad Anáhuac in Mexico City. He is a partner in the company AKA Administraciones S.C. and has held several positions within AMPI, including general director of the Instituto de Administradores de Inmuebles (Institute of Property Administrators) and vice president (2017).
