Puerto Vallarta International Airport recorded a remarkable increase in air traffic during the first half of 2024, receiving 1,828,000 passengers on 16,031 flights, according to data from the Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico (GAP).
This figure represents an increase of 34.1 percent over the same period in 2019, solidifying Puerto Vallarta as a constantly growing destination with increasingly robust connectivity.
The addition of four new routes to New York, Sacramento, Kansas City and Saint Louis, scheduled to begin in January 2025, further strengthens Puerto Vallarta’s position on the international tourism map. These new routes, with a total of 1,200 additional weekly seats, will be added to the existing 49 flights, 36 of which are international.
This increase in air connectivity not only benefits the tourism sector, but also has a direct impact on the region’s real estate market. The arrival of more visitors, many of them potential investors, translates into greater demand for real estate, both for vacation use and long-term investment.
“The solid growth in passenger arrivals to Puerto Vallarta is a clear indicator of the region’s attractiveness not only as a tourist destination, but also as a booming real estate market.” —Vanessa Pérez Lamas, secretary of Tourism for the State of Jalisco.
