Through the AMPI Cabo Bahía Sur and AMPI Riviera Nayarit sections, the Mexican Association of Real Estate Professionals will have a seat in the Municipal Planning Council, Urban Development and Housing of Bahía de Banderas.
This new council, through the Municipal Planning Institute (IMPLAN), seeks to observe, study, and analyze the use and occupation of land to move towards a sustainable and ecological model—a strong reason for AMPI to take a space within the council.
Headed by Bahía de Banderas mayor, Mirtha Villalvazo, this organization is made up of representatives of various government agencies, colleges of professionals, academic institutions, business organizations, universities, and common areas of the municipality.
Some of the main topics that will be presented and discussed during the monthly meetings will include land use, environmental protection, and the water supply of drinking water, as well as the different concerns that revolve around the real estate sector in the region.
“The last Municipal Development Plan was approved in 2005. Since then, it has not been updated, so it is necessary to make a new one. We will work to achieve this so that Bahía de Banderas becomes an exemplary municipality in terms of planning, territory, urban development, and housing”. —Carlos Lemus, president of AMPI Riviera Nayarit.
