Second Real Estate Associations Meeting

Nine Mexican real estate institutions are hoping to start a national council.

Nine real estate associations from all over Mexico attended the Second Real Estate Associations Meeting that took place at the B Nayar residential development in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle this past August. The purpose of the event was to follow up an initiative that promotes the creation of a national real estate council, the handling of the Realtors Registration Law before the State of Jalisco Congress, and the creation of a degree program to certify industry professionals.

Some of the organizations present at the event included the Vallarta Real Estate Professionals Association (APIVAC by its acronym in Spanish), the Association of Real Estate Professionals Specialized in Counseling and Similar Services, the Baja California Council of Real Estate Professionals, the Western Real Estate Movement and the Real Estate Section of the Guadalajara Chamber of Commerce; whose representatives chose the temporary name of “Mexican Real Estate Council” for this new entity.

Rebeca Hernández, APIVAC president, explained that this initiative originated in Guadalajara during the Western Real Estate Congress, and their following meeting will take place in La Paz, Baja California Sur, this coming November.

“Aside from efforts to professionalize the industry, we want to create a platform where all the members of this national association can share their properties and exchange sales prospects.” –Rebeca Hernández, APIVAC president.
