Real Estate Agents Take Knowledge Assessment

During the ordinary meeting of the Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit sections of the Asociación Mexicana de Profesionales Inmobiliarios (AMPI) (Mexican Association of Real Estate Professionals), local real estate brokers and agents took a knowledge assessment pertaining to the Consejo Nacional de Normalización y Certificación de Competencias Laborales (CONOCER) (National Council for Standardization and Certification of Labor Competence) certification of the Secretaría de Educación Pública (SEP) (Ministry of Public Education).

The exam, held at the Pavilion Vibrant Residences development, was given by Francisco Estrada and Eduardo García, federal evaluators from Corporativo Inmobiliario Estrada, a company with more than 15 years of experience in this type of assessment and endorsed by CONOCER. In addition to this type of exercise, the company offers training and the final exam to obtain certification (valid nationwide).

Those taking this preliminary knowledge test included Harriet Murray and Madelyn Hernández, of Cochran Real Estate; Michael Holland and Ray Careme, of Puerto Vallarta Villas; Alexis Silva, of Silva Brisset Realtors; Sherri Narro, of Puerto Vallarta Dream Homes; and Sarah Elengorn, of Elengorn Realtors. Those interested in taking this assessment, the training or the final exam to obtain CONOCER certification can contact the local sections of AMPI to know more about the process.

“The federal real estate standard changed in August 2017, so real estate professionals who had the previous CONOCER certification need to update it by taking the assessment based on the new standard.” —Francisco Estrada, director of Corporativo Inmobiliario Estrada.
