Infrastructure Investment Announced

Enrique Alfaro, governor of Jalisco, announced that 26 billion pesos will be allocated to infrastructure projects to benefit the entity’s development.

He pointed out that the entity’s infrastructure investment program will reach 18.599 billion pesos this year and will have the support of the federal government to fulfill the figure of 26 billion pesos.

“Today, we are reaching infrastructure investment levels the size of those in Mexico City, something that had never happened in the history of Jalisco,” he said.

He emphasized that this strategy will give priority to issues of water, mobility, road connection and telecommunications, to which historic infrastructure budgets will be allocated.

He reiterated the entity’s commitment to complete projects such as Line 3 of the Light Rail, as well as the start of new works such as the public transportation line Peribús.

Finally, he added that he will follow up on the bidding processes for the 5.25 billion pesos of credit the Jalisco Congress approved for the entity, for which he requested the active supervision of accountability by the Colegio de Ingenieros (Association of Engineers) and the Cámara de la Construcción (Chamber of Construction).
