AMPI Suggests Expanding International Market

To boost the national economy, Mexico’s real estate industry needs to expand the international market, said Pablo Vásquez, national president of the Asociación Mexicana de Profesionales Inmobiliarios (AMPI) (Mexican Association of Real Estate Professionals).

“Throughout the 63 years AMPI has been in existence, this is the natural market the real estate industry has bet on. It has always sought to attract investment from all continents, and this year, in particular, is the opportunity to start growing in Mexico.”

He said economists suggest boosting marketing in the United States, Canada and other markets, especially those in the Asian region. He asked the real estate industry to work hand in hand with the federal government to spark investment in infrastructure, which generates a considerable number of jobs.

Vásquez added that the above is very important, since real estate and construction industry activities are the sectors that contribute most to the gross domestic product (GDP), followed by manufacturing.
